Legal Disclaimer

This notice is the most important page on the site and we ask you to read it in full before downloading anything.
No affiliation with Meta or WhatsApp
This website is not affiliated with, associated with, authorised by, endorsed by or sponsored in any way by Meta Platforms, Inc., WhatsApp LLC or any of their subsidiaries. We have no commercial or contractual relationship with them.
WhatsApp is a registered trade mark of its respective owners. We use the name purely descriptively, to explain which application our guides are about, as nominative use of another party's mark allows. All names, logos and marks mentioned belong to their owners.
What a modified application actually is
The applications we write about are altered versions of the original client, created by independent developers unconnected to the company that owns the official app. They are not official products, they are not distributed through Google Play, and they carry no support, warranty or audit from the original maker.
Risks you take on
We want you to decide with the full picture. Using a modified application carries at least these possible consequences:
- Breach of the terms of service. Using unofficial clients goes against the conditions you accepted when creating your account. The platform may restrict or suspend it temporarily or permanently.
- No security guarantees. The code of these applications cannot be independently audited the way the official client can. Although we review the files we publish, nobody can certify the internal behaviour of closed software.
- No support. If something breaks there is no customer service to turn to.
- Manual updates. They do not arrive by themselves, and an outdated build loses protection over time.
- Possible data loss. A badly handled install or migration can erase conversations irreversibly.
What this site is for
We publish for informational and educational purposes. We document what these applications do, how they are installed and what risks they carry, precisely because so much incomplete or misleading information circulates. Explaining how something works is not the same as recommending it without reservation: throughout the site we state plainly when the sensible choice is to stay with the official app.
Limitation of liability
We accept no liability for direct or indirect damage arising from downloading, installing or using the software mentioned, including data loss, account suspension, damage to your device or any financial loss. The decision to install is yours and so are the consequences.
About files hosted by third parties
When a file is served from an external provider, that provider is responsible for its storage and availability. We verify the file before linking it, but we do not control what happens afterwards on someone else's server.
