WhatsApp Plus is an independent editorial project dedicated to documenting, carefully and without hype, the world of modified messaging applications for Android.

Why this site exists

Search for information about these applications and you will meet two equally useless extremes: pages that promise miracles and hide the risks entirely, and pages that repeat generic warnings while explaining nothing. In between sit millions of people who already use these applications or are about to install one and cannot find an honest account of what they do, how they are installed and what can go wrong.

This site was built to fill that gap. We write the guides we wish we had found the first time we installed an APK from outside Google Play.

How we work

We are a small team with a background in mobile technology and technical writing. Our method is simple:

• We test before we write. Every guide is followed step by step on real devices before publication. If a step behaves differently on a particular manufacturer, we say so.
• We check the files. We verify size, signature and behaviour of every file we link before publishing it, and again with each new version.
• We update with every release. When a new version appears we revise the figures, screenshots and affected steps across all ten languages of the site.
• We explain the risks plainly. Every guide states clearly what can go wrong, account bans included. We have no interest in you installing something without knowing what you are exposed to.

Our editorial commitment

We accept no payment for favourable reviews or for hiding problems. If an application gets worse, we say so. If in your case the sensible option is to stay with the official app, we say that too, and in fact we do in several sections of this site.

The project is funded by advertising. Ads never shape what we write, and they are always visually separated from the content so you do not mistake them for our recommendations.

Ten languages, one standard

We publish in Spanish, English, Portuguese, Indonesian, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Turkish and French because these applications are used above all in countries where messaging is the main channel of communication. The guides are not machine translations: each version is adapted to its language while keeping the same editorial standard.

What we are not

We do not develop the applications we cover, we have no relationship with their authors, and we are not affiliated with Meta or WhatsApp Inc. We are an independent informational site. The full details are in our disclaimer.
